Should you elect to use an eBank in another country, be aware
that legislative and banking laws will differ from what exists in your
country. Depending on where you live and where you would like to bank, this could be either a good or a
bad thing.
For example, in the United States, the
Federal Deposit Insurance
Corporation (FDIC) provides some insurance on bank account deposits.
In Canada the Canadian Deposit
Insurance Corporation (CDIC) provides a similar function. Before
depositing funds in an offshore bank, it is important to consider the
banking laws in that jurisdiction.
